What the AquaPack does – and where it stops
A 3" pump fits boreholes that are too narrow for a standard 4" pump, and the AquaPack comes ready to connect: pump end, motor and control box. The model code tells you what you are buying: in 3 SD 1/27, 1 is the nominal flow of about 1 m³/h and 27 is the number of stages. More stages give more head at the same flow, so the range runs from the 10-stage 3 SD 1/10 for shallow boreholes to the 40-stage 3 SD 1/40 for deep ones.

How to choose the right AquaPack
- Find the dynamic water level (the level while pumping) and the pump setting depth.
- Add the height from the borehole head to the tank inlet, or to the highest tap plus the pressure you want there (10 m per bar).
- Add about 5–10 % for pipe losses on a 25–32 mm poly pipe.
- Pick the model with enough stages: more stages for deeper water or higher tanks.
- Check the borehole yield is higher than about 1 m³/h so the pump cannot run it dry.
Worked example: water level at 30 m, a tank stand 5 m high and 60 m of pipe (about 4 m of losses) give roughly 39 m of total head at about 1 m³/h. A mid-range model such as the 3 SD 1/22 or 3 SD 1/27 suits this; the 3 SD 1/40 is for water levels much deeper than this.

Installation notes
- Set the pump at least a few metres below the lowest pumping water level and above the bottom of the borehole to avoid drawing sand.
- Support the pump on a stainless steel safety rope, not on the cable or pipe.
- Use a borehole cable sized for the length and fit a non-return valve at the pump outlet.
- Mount the control box in a dry, shaded place and connect it through an earth-leakage protected supply.
- Never run the pump dry – protect it with a level probe or a dry-run protected controller where the borehole yield is low.
