Tesk Booster Systems

Tesk booster systems range from the compact PMC intelligent constant-pressure booster for homes and light commercial use to custom multi-pump booster sets built and tested in Tesk's Pretoria workshop. This guide explains both, how to size a booster and current prices.

PMC intelligent booster

The PMC combines a permanent magnet motor, pump and variable-speed controller in one unit. It keeps the pressure constant as taps open and close, runs quietly and uses 30–50% less energy than a fixed-speed booster. Maximum suction lift is 9 m.

Custom booster sets

For high-rise buildings, commercial and industrial pressure boosting and irrigation, Tesk builds multi-pump sets to order: mild steel base plate, galvanised manifolds (stainless on request), a non-return valve and two isolating valves per pump, a pressure gauge and transducer on the discharge manifold, and VSD control for constant pressure with dry-run protection as standard. Custom booster sets are priced on request.

Sizing a booster

1. Peak flow. Count the fixtures or outlets likely to run at once and add their flows.
2. Pressure. Required pressure at the highest or furthest outlet plus the height above the pump and friction losses.
3. Supply. Check suction conditions: PMC lifts up to 9 m; larger sets usually draw from a tank.
4. Redundancy. For buildings, a duty/standby or multi-pump set keeps water flowing during service.
